Need help caring for your child? When looking for a Dakota nanny company with the help of a computer, parents rarely understand what is the sure-fire method for lining up a good match for their child. Is it a matter of checking out chat rooms about child care, special interest sites, or use an online referral agency? Really, can they have confidence in someone’s qualifications and true nature and who might be someone your child will trust, too? Perhaps the easiest and most reliable technique for finding someone you can trust is to go with the services of a professional nanny finding firm that is able to arrange the best nanny for your child.

Find a Dakota Nanny Company Now – Click Here!

Step one, before committing yourself to a Dakota nanny company, be sure you know yourself everything your sitter will have to do and what you expect from your nanny. For example, when and how often do you need this person? Can this person be trusted to feed your child healthy food at specified times? Would your child be stressed by having a new care giver? Is your child’s safety the nanny’s main concern? or his health? Write as detailed a list as possible that summarizes the functions that your caregiver will perform.

When you’re sure of exactly what you need from a nanny, the second step is to determine a system you can use to quickly and effectively to find the perfect candidate for you and your child. The simplest way to accomplish this is to link up with an internet-based caregiver placement company. Caregiver match-making firms are adept at allowing you to take advantage of a large database of great caregivers who are looking for a job caring for your child.

The simplest way to locate a Dakota nanny company in your area can actually be a snap if bring up Google or similar and list at least two items to find: your city (and neighborhood if you live in a large metropolitan area), and the kind of person you’re searching for. Out of the results that have come up on your computer, you select from the available caregivers those who seem the most compatible with your needs. Compare the best and worst points of all the nannies and pick the one who is able to meet your various job requirements.

Specialized childcare agencies can equip you with an assortment of options: the ability to look through the list of nannies at no charge, and to check out the agency’s online file on them, including a picture, some basic facts, details about prior work experience, etc. On the condition that they provide a no-cost tryout, which typically have the limitation of a certain time-frame, join parents who vouch for this service – it’s likely that you and your child will be happy you did!

With the first of the baby boomer generation turning 60, the “silver tsunami” is upon us and working caregivers are being faced with the added responsibility of caring for aging parents or other loved ones. What was once referred to as the “sandwich generation”, is now becoming the “club sandwich generation.” Caregivers today, ages 35-55, are sandwiched between caring for their own families, and assuming the responsibility of caring for aging parents and, in many cases, grandparents or even aunts and uncles.

Balancing all the responsibility has truly become a juggling act. Attending a child’s final soccer game versus taking an elderly loved one to a medical appointment has become a stressful decision that tugs at the hearts of caregivers. Coupled with working full time, the reality of the days growing longer as the nights grow shorter becomes increasingly evident.

Although statistics show the burden of care giving still falls on the woman of the household, the number of men in this role is increasing steadily with a 60/40 ratio of female/male caregivers.

The role of assisting an elderly loved one is not a one-time event. It is ongoing and constantly changing as medical, social and financial needs evolve. This added responsibility compounds the stressors of daily life and in many cases a resulting negative change occurs in the complexion of the family. Often, family members are overwhelmed by guilt, confusion and fear, because they made a promise to take care of their parents and many feel the responsibility to provide elder care themselves.

In addition, today’s slumping real estate market further exacerbates the need for informal caregivers, as many elderly are forced to remain in their homes. Then suddenly, a health crisis arises and the family is faced with making arrangements without full knowledge of what elder care options are available. Searching for appropriate care and/or services is often a confusing and daunting task. Not knowing which options would be most appropriate for one’s individual situation makes it more complicated and frustrating. Furthermore, the “maze” of elder care options available on the internet can often lead to more confusion.

In light of the aging workforce, coupled with a decrease in the available workers needed to replace them, more and more forward thinking employers are offering elder care services to help their workers manage this growing issue. Elder care as a workplace issue is now at the stage where childcare was 20 to 30 years ago. If elder care follows the same trajectory that childcare issues took, employers could find themselves radically restructuring employment benefits policies to accommodate this social change. It is estimated that elder care issues cost the national economy $34 billion annually and this cost is expected to increase at a staggering pace. Realizing the impact that elder care giving responsibilities has on their employees, some forward thinking employers have made elder care services available to their employees as a benefit. Providing greater access and utilization of the right kind of information allows an employee to balance their commitments to career and family while maximizing productivity and enhancing the employee’s quality of life.

With elder care giving expected to reach major proportions in the next 10 to 15 years, more employers must start laying the groundwork to ensure that they are taking good care of their business by taking good care of their employees and providing workers with the resources to address elder care needs.

Los Angeles, CA April 27, 2009 – It?s good news, according to insurance agents: Legislation designed to remove Medicare?s annual benefit cap on outpatient rehabilitation services, including physical and speech therapy, could be acted on by Congress later this year.

“This is great for seniors on Medicare,” said Alan Weinstock, an insurance agent at www.MedicareSupplementPlans.com, who indicates that, if passed, the legislation could benefit seniors financially and improve their access to certain types of health care.

The Medicare Access to Rehabilitation Services (MARS) Act is designed to ease health care costs and improve health care access for seniors confronting age-related diseases, such as heart disease, strokes, or Parkinson?s. Currently seniors receiving outpatient rehabilitation services have an annual dollar limit of $1,840.00 for care. Once the dollar amount is reached, the care stops for the remaining calendar year, although that dollar amount resets every year on January 1.

We are living in a fast and materialistic world. People are concerned with materialistic pleasures and very often get their priorities wrong. They neglect their health and their relationships with their family, a consequence of leading a fast pace life. However, there are some responsibilities in life that an individual cannot neglect, and that is to care for the elders in your family. This is a special role of a caregiver that you have to undertake, to look after your elderly parents or a relative. It is a very rewarding experience, one that will remain with you in the future in the form of pleasant memories. Caring for the elderly is not an easy task and it can bring a significant amount of stress and worry upon the caregiver. The hard work is compounded if the person is infirm or disabled.

We often take our own health for granted and neglect to take care of ourselves. However, if we have the responsibility to look after our elderly parents, we have to consider many factors, and this includes their health. Here are a few tips that can help to safeguard the health of the elders in your care.

? Diet: Maintaining a healthy and suitable diet in respect of the elderly is of utmost importance. The older people are prone to illness more often than others and a healthy, nutritionally complete diet can keep illness at bay. Avoid large amounts of fat and salt in the diet as this slows down any recoveries from illness. Too much salt makes the circulatory system sluggish and fats can clog arteries. Instead, the diet should contain plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to provide the necessary vitamins and minerals for the regeneration of tissues. Ensure that they get a sufficient quantity of fiber in their diet to promote bowel movement.

? Mental Health: The state of the mental health of the elderly individuals is a great concern for the caregiver. One has to make sure that they are comfortable in their surroundings. Setting a routine will help them relax and also give them a sense of being a part of the family life. The elderly are trying to cope with the changes happening in their lives; this may cause some depression or anxiety that should be taken care of with a little understanding and compassion.

? Physical Health: As a caregiver, you must ensure that the elderly in your care get regular health check ups. Any changes should be brought to the notice of the doctor immediately. This will help to diagnose problems quickly and the routine of the health checks will help the individual to relax and thus improve the general health.

? Exercise: It may not be possible for all elderly individuals to exercise as this depends on their physical conditions. However, 15 to 20 minutes of gentle exercise can work wonders for their general well being. Walking around the supermarket or walking the dog or gardening can be an exercise for the elders. The elderly in your care can be taken outdoors as often as possible as this can help to break the monotony of being confined to the house. Any outdoor activity will help to stretch the joints to reduce stiffness or immobility and raise their spirits, thus improving their overall health.

Most people forget that good health is the greatest asset they can have in life.

They work hard all their lives without taking proper care of themselves

for many years until one day they break down.

Don?t wait until you?ve a nervous break down, to face the reality.

You should balance your activities with the proper amount of rest.

Some of the leading experts in the field of aging now believe that regular exercise along with the proper amount of rest may actually add years to the life span.

Results from a number of tests indicate that speed and muscular strength of many of the elderly can be extended.

Leading authorities agree that this new data is going to shatter many of the myths about aging and physical performance.

The conclusion now is that the performance and ability of the elderly has long been underestimated, diet, proper sleep and exercise along with rest and relaxation are all important factors in preserving our bodies.

Laughter is one of the best things for your mental and physical state.

People are naturally attracted to someone who has a good sense of humor.

You can develop a good outlook and a good sense of humor by associating with and surrounding yourself with pleasant happy people.

Recognize that stress is a killer. A life filled with stress can really wreak havoc on your body causing a number of illnesses such as hear attacks, strokes, asthma, gastric problems, menstrual disorders, ulcerative colitis, angina, irritable colon, increased blood pressure, ulcers, headaches, etc.

There are different types of stress such as mental, emotional and physical.

Emotional stress seems to take the greatest toll on everyone.

All stress is not bad; in fact, life would not be very interesting if it were not met with challenges.

However, too much stress, too often with no effective and appropriate outlet, does not allow the body and soul to recuperate.

You might review a typical week to see if you can identify things that might be making you anxious or causing you stress.

Once identified, stressors can be attacked and eliminated.

Are you a worrier? Chronic worriers don’t have more serious problems than others – they just think they do.

Many worriers try to cope by trying not to think about their problems, but this just makes things worse.

Doctors say that chronic worriers feel less anxious if they actually spend a half-hour a day thinking specifically about their problems.

Get plenty of exercise. People who are physically fit look good and feel good.

A good exercise regimen will lengthen your life. Improve your appearance, build self confidence and help delay the aging process.

Remember that you need to do something physical every day.

If you don’t use your joints, quite simply they’ll tighten up with age to create the stooped, bent and worn out appearance we so often associate with old age.

Studies have shown that people with arthritis experience less pain if they continue to keep their joints flexible.

As one gets older, the bones tend to get brittle which is why it is common for senior citizens to break bones and especially their hips when they fall.

Eating right, getting proper sleep and learning to relax are all very valuable in maintaining a healthy body and mind.

And keep in mind that eating healthy foods and avoiding those high in fats, sodium and cholesterol will help to decrease your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure and associated problems.

May these good health news and insights help you to live a longer, healthy and happy life.

Being a primary caregiver takes a lot of time and effort, especially if someone is caring for a person with Alzheimer’s. Caregivers can easily get burned out or suffer health challenges of their own if they don’t get regular breaks. Even if your family is well equipped for caregiving, its important to be familiar with the many home care services that are available today for the elderly. Taking advantage of these services may give you the occasional day off or vacation that you need, without putting undo stress on your family or friends.

Even if you have other siblings that assist you in caring for a loved one, there are times when they are not available or something unexpected comes up. At these times, being familiar with companies or caregivers that specialize in providing home care services for the elderly can be just what you need. Each local area normally has some companies that offer a wide range of living assistance services. Normally, you can find these by using a search engine like Google or Yahoo and searching for the word “caregivers.” However, there are also companies that provide home care services for the elderly throughout the United States. Here are some nationwide, senior care service providers, that you may want to consider.

Visiting Angels

Sometimes you may feel like a nursing home or retirement center is your only option. Visiting Angels specializes in non-medical home care services for the elderly, allowing them to maintain as much independence as possible in familiar surroundings. They have over 300 offices across the country to serve you. Their website is: www.visitingangels.com.

Cargiver Needed

Search by state for caregivers, nurses, and sitters. Nurses are available for pediatric and geriatric care. They offer both non-medical and medical care for the elderly and for children. Both live in and live out caregiving options are available. Their website is: www.caregiverneeded.com.

Right at Home

A national, in home care assistance agency, that provides trained, insured and bonded caregivers for a wide range of elder care services. They can provide home health care from as little as a few hours to 24-hours a day. Services include: caring companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, bathing assistance, respite for family caregivers, and much more. Their website is: www.rightathome.net.

I hope that some of these resources are helpful to you in your role as a caregiver. This is just a few of the many resources that are available for today’s caregivers. Over the years we have been blessed to have family members and close friends that have teamed up with us to care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s. However, utilizing other caregiver resources, at times, has afforded us with much needed breaks, while still providing excellent care for our loved one.
